January:
- The house hunting process began
- My family came to town to celebrate my birthday
February:
- I turned 25
- We made our first offer on a house, which we later lost
March:
- WE FOUND OUR HOUSE!!!
- We made a visit to the Kraus cabins to go snowshoeing. By that time there was no snow, so we enjoyed a nice spring-like family weekend
- I made a trip to Madison for our first semi-annual stamping and scrapbooking weekend with some of my Madison girls
April:
- We had our home inspection
- Jeff, Stacy & Jersey spent a long weekend with us
May:
- I started my MBA program at Hamline University
- We spent a weekend in North Dakota with the Hammes'
- We spent a weekend in Neenah celebrating Grandma's 80th birthday
- Memorial Day weekend we finally closed on our house and spent the weekend painting, cleaning, installing new light fixtures, etc, etc, etc all with my parents help
June:
- My sister came to town to help with some of the house work
- We moved into our house with lots of help from Papa Hammes
- We said a tearful good-bye to the townhouse we had been renting where our lives had changed so much
July:
- The 4th of July was celebrated in Neenah where we went tubing and saw a boat flood on lake Winnebago
- Steve's parents visited and helped us with LOTS of yardwork
- We spent a weekend camping in Duluth where we enjoyed beautiful sites, hiking, and a boat tour of the area
- I spent a long weekend at Fox Hills with my mom and dad
August:
- We made a road trip to North Dakota for Harvest Fest and Steve's all school reunion
- I finished MBA semester one and started semester two
- Steve started work on a project with MSCTC
September:
- My mom, dad, and grandma came to visit and we enjoyed a nice meal in downtown St Paul
- Mom & dad Hammes came to town along with Uncle Neal for a Twins game and to spend some time with us
- I made another trip to Madison for the semi-annual stamping and scrapbooking weekend
October:
- We spent a weekend in Neenah for the ALS walk and our friend Jen joined us for the weekend
- Steve turned 30 and did some traveling for work to western Minnesota
- We spent 5 wonderful days in San Francisco for Steve's birthday present
November:
- We celebrated our 4th anniversary with a delicious meal at McCormick & Schmicks in downtown Minneapolis
- Our sisters (Devon & Sam) came for a visit and we got 8 inches of snow. This is when we first realized how we couldn't make it through the winter without a snowblower
- Steve traveled 2 weeks of the month for a project
- Thanksgiving was celebrated in Neenah
- Mom & grandma made us beautiful drapes for our front window and patio doors
December:
- We hosted my classmates and their spouses for a holiday party
- The next day we got 16 inches of snow with no snowblower to our name; fortunately the neighbor loaned us theirs
- I finished MBA semester two and got a 20 day reprieve
- Mom, dad, Devon & grandma came to celebrate Christmas with us - our first Christmas in our first home
- We finally got a snowblower!
- Christmas was spent in North Dakota with the Hammes'
Overall, 2010 was a great year for the Hamfling's! We are so grateful for all of the wonderful experiences we were able to have, for our first home, and for our friends and family who continue to support and love us! 2011 is sure to bring many new and exciting moments for us. Steve is going to be promoted in the next few weeks, I hope to have a new job this year, and we've already started our list of house projects we wish to complete. May 2011 bring all of us love, happiness, and many blessings!
